Located on the Davis Mountains Scenic Loop (Texas Hwy 166), Sawtooth Peak rares its head above the Chihuahuan desert floor as you climb into the mountains toward the McDonald Observatory. It is breathtaking to see. I had long wanted to capture the grandeur of this granite handiwork of our Creator.

Early one morning my grandson, Luke, and I eagerly headed out in near dark, driving the winding mountain roads to see it. There was no other traffic, so we had lots of freedom to play with exposure and angle. He was my creative assistant in this process. We will do adventures like this again, and again.
